We create communications, campaigns, partnerships and environments that matter most to our clients through our philosophy of Free Time Choices™ and creative excellence.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that BUREAU has been appointed by film director Nicolas Winding Refn to create a new digital cultural platform, byNWR.

Nicolas Winding Refn, known for such films as Drive, Only God Forgives and The

Neon Demon, approached us last year to create a ‘cultural expressway’ that would bring together all his passions: film, music, literature and more.

We’ve been working in partnership with Nicolas as global publisher and co-creator, to develop the creative concept byNWR, a guest-curated digital cultural platform.

David Frost, BUREAU Co-Founder and Client Director, said: “I have a long-established relationship with Nicolas through his film projects, so with BUREAU it was a natural progression to work together to build a creative platform to explore his passion for the culturally rare, forgotten or unknown.”

Jeff Boardman, BUREAU Founder and Strategic Director, added: “With the launch of byNWR.com we will continue to build strategic partnerships with organisations and brands who share a love of creativity and believe culture is for everyone.”

Quarterly volumes of content for byNWR.com will be published, each curated by a different guest editor. Each ‘chapter’ will feature a fully restored film, along with original content – long-form essays, music, videos and photography – all inspiring a journey through the byNWR cultural expressway.

Volume 1 is curated by American journalist Jimmy McDonough and will include a restored version of the cult film The Nest of the Cuckoo Birds. Volume 2 is guest edited by film magazine, Little White Lies.

Access to byNWR is completely free. Beyond the digital platform, it will be brought to life through events, one-off publications, physical music releases and strategic partnerships.
